Initiation Program

New for the 2017-1018 season the North Channel Minor Hockey Association will be implementing the Initiation Program developed by Hockey Canada.

The main goal of the program is to make the beginner’s first impression of hockey a good one!  When players get started on a positive note , they automatically enjoy the game and usually go on to have fun playing hockey for many years.

A smaller ice surface, smaller nets and lighter pucks scale the game down to the size these younger players are use to.  Fun practices, no pressure games and jamborees make up the fundamentals of this new program.

We are very excited to implement the program this year.  Along with our coaches, bench staff and parents we hope to make the first couple years of your child’s hockey experience a great one.
